Eyelash Routine

I get quite a few comments and questions about my eyelashes so I wanted to share what I do to get the biggest impact lashes I can- with out false lashes. First of all, if you can put falsies on, bless you. I cannot figure out how to get falsies to sit right on my eyes and eyelash glue can get clunky. I have naturally long lashes so I'm not super interested (yet) in getting those permanent lash extensions put in either (also, dats expensive stuff!). So, for me, the easiest thing I've found for getting my lashes to look big and bold is just by packing on mascara in multiple coats.

First, a couple of "don'ts": I don't curl my lashes because I find curling them shortens my lashes too much and I prefer the look of longer/straighter lashes on me and I don't use waterproof mascara because I almost always have to pull out lashes in order to get the mascara to come off (the worst).

In general, I love a "clumpier" looking lash. To achieve that, I find the best mascara wands to use are the ones with natural thicker bristles (like the ones pictured below) rather than the rubber bristles (the bendy ones). I love the two L'oreal mascaras linked below because they apply easily, thicken my lashes, don't transfer when I sweat (even though they aren't waterproof),  come off so easily in the shower annnnd bonus: they're super affordable.

My mascara routine:

1. Start with one coat of L'oreal Voluminous Original Mascara in Blackest Black (focus on the root of the lashes first)

2. let it dry for a couple of minutes

3. apply another coat of the same mascara

4. again, let it dry for a couple of minutes

5. apply a coat of L'oreal Studio Secrets Pro Extra Volume Collagen Hydra Collagen Plumping Mascara

6. let it dry for a couple of minutes

7. apply another coat of the second mascara

8. let it dry again & see if you want to add another coat or not

(tip from a not-so-pro: if you get mascara on your eyelid, wait until you've finished applying all the coats you want and then use a wet q-tip (wet with either water or makeup remover) to wipe away the mascara on your lid! I honestly have no idea how people can do their mascara and not get any on their eyelid, it must be like the 8th wonder of the world...)

Hope this helped if you're looking to get more oomph out of you're lashes with just little 'ole drugstore mascara!
