Recently, D and I took a much needed mini trip to Houston. Live music is our mutual love and we will go almost anywhere to see a good show. We've planned whole vacations out-of-state around a single concert before; the dedication is real y'all. This concert was Lucius and The Cactus Blossoms- a couple of our absolute favorites! Seriously, give them a listen if you haven't already- life changing harmonies and story telling.
We had a cutest Airbnb (it was an actual tiny house and it was so perfect, I want one now) really close to the venue in Near Northside. We hit up a ton of colorful walls I had read about here, ate at Hopdoddy (which might sound silly since it friggin' originated here in Austin but it's always crazy-line-down-the-block busy so we hardly ever go), had really yummy coffee and bfast tacos at Boomtown Coffee, ate at Ninfa's which just reminded us of home and I love that.
Aside from food and photo fun, we laughed a whole lot, watched lots of The Office and did no work- it was lovely; exactly what we needed after the election madness.
I hope Dave and I always date each other above all else because he's a pretty fun date.
Thanks for reading!
