Ever since Dave and I committed to our new healthy lifestyle 7 weeks ago, weekends for us have been especially different. There's been no more big blow outs where we just run around town eating brunch, drinking all the mimosas, grabbing sugary coffee, eating fancy sandwiches (looking at you Noble Pig), afternoon naps and take out dinner. Nope. Now, our weekends are more about working out, protein shakes, cooking dinner and making our own coffee with no fancy syrups. When we go out and do something we just make sure not to revolve it around eating out. At first, this REALLY bummed me out. But, now, after seeing and feeling so many positive changes (fewer LBs on the scale, much more energy, stronger and less cravings for junky food) it's gotten much easier to not go crazy on weekends.
This weekend was a treat, though, because one of our friends just moved to Austin so we got to catch up with her over brunch. We let ourselves have a boozy drink at there and a few other treats throughout the day. The world didn't end! It felt like we were still our normal selves but also better versions because we didn't go overboard with indulging. Also, I stopped by the brand new Warby Parker brick and mortar on South Congress and ordered new glasses- really excited to get them in the next week and show you guys!
This super fulfilling weekend showed me it's all about that 80/20 balance!
Hope your weekend was fulfilling! Thanks for reading!
