So, not entirely sure how many things you need to be talking about for it to be considered a "roundup" buuut whatever, no rules here. Sharing my 3 favorite new albums because I love sharing good music almost as much as I love dancing to it. Also, just a recommendation, get the vinyl versions if you can- sooo worth it!
1. Sturgill Simpson- A Sailor's Guide To Earth - This is Sturgill's 3rd album and it's a friggin' masterpiece. When this first came out, I totally did the thing I always do when I LOVE an album: listened to it (in order, very important - no shuffle!) like 5-10 times a day for a couple of weeks. Crazy, I know, but it's that good. Great storytelling throughout this album and I really dig the Nirvana cover "In Bloom" but the track I'm linking below is my current favorite.
2. Låpsley- Long Way Home - amazing soundtrack for getting work done or, you know, online shopping. Just chill/happy vibes all day long with this album and such a pretty versatile voice. I keep this vinyl at the ready in my craft room record player and also, the vinyl is white- swoon!
3. The Cactus Blossoms- You're Dreaming - Ahhhh, sooo good. Can't recommend this band enough. You're basically transported to late 60's early 70's country/rock 'n roll sounds with these guys. They're so freaking polished and those harmonies are gold. The vinyl is ridiculously dreamy, can't stop playing it when I'm home. We're actually seeing them in a couple of weeks here in Austin and I can't wait- I can already feel the goosebumps I'm gonna get by hearing them live- ah!
Happy listening and thanks for reading!
