Guys, Marfa was a special trip. From the mountains to the bright stars, the almost total quiet and all the wild animals (horses, bunnies, road runners, coyotes!)- it was one of my favorite trips ever. We stayed at El Cosmico which is probably technically more "glamping" rather than camping seeing as how there were showers and toilets that flushed but we got to stay in a teepee...A TEEPEE and a yurt with A/C. Whether it was legit camping or not, it was a complete West Texas dreamland. El Cosmico was peaceful, so well kept and spewed with charm. There's no wifi on the grounds other than in the lobby intentionally and I really love that they force you to disconnect as much as you can. The only thing missing was our pups and if they could handle the 6+ hour drive we would've brought them along too. Dave and I were able to full-on relax this trip and we got to do everything we hoped we would. More on everything we did and saw in another post. Marfa is probably one of the most photogenic places I've traveled to, so there are LOTS of photos to share. In this first post I want to share the El Cosmico grounds so you can soak up all the colors and the clearest, brightest blue sky ever.
We can't wait to go back and when we do, we will definitely stay here again but we might try reserving a trailer! I'm so grateful that El Cosmico exists; they know what they're doing. If you ever have a chance to visit West Texas, do not hesitate to stay here- it's one of a freakin' kind!
